Audrey Alexis Garcia is a 2022-2023 Fulbright research grantee to Belgium. Her research focuses on political and ideological influence on classic Belgian comics with a focus on imagery’s correlation with national identity. Audrey is an alumna from the University of California Irvine, Class of 2021 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Comparative Literature and Philosophy. She intends to produce a research paper on the topic of politics and national identity in Belgian bandé dessinées under the guidance of her affiliates at the Ghent University and Université Libre de Bruxelles.
